Nexus Rental is extending its Iris management platform into the Republic of Ireland, marking the B2B vehicle and plant hire specialist’s first move outside the UK

The expansion will increase the size of Nexus Rental’s supplier network and take the number of vehicles covered across its UK and Irish network to more than 585,000.

Nexus said the Irish version of Iris has been developed specifically around the requirements of the local rental market, with further details of the platform’s capabilities to be announced.

The move is the latest stage in the company’s wider growth strategy, following a repositioning and rebrand designed to strengthen Nexus’ position in the market and highlight the role of rental within fleet management.

Nexus has also invested heavily in its technology and expanded its Yorkshire operations with a second office. The business boasted a record number of vehicles on rent during two consecutive peak seasons.

Scott Haddow, chief executive of Nexus Rental, said the move into Ireland marks a significant milestone for the business.

He added: “It’s a move we’ve taken carefully and deliberately, built on a strong platform, trusted customer relationships, and a clear understanding of where we can add real value.

“This progress is the result of sustained hard work across the company, from product and technology to operations, commercial and finance, as well as the strength of our supplier partnerships. I’m incredibly proud of the teams who have helped make this possible.

“We’re excited to bring our tech-led, people-focused approach to Irish businesses, and to support them with the same reliability and service standards our UK customers expect.”
