InPost has claimed the top spot in the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport’s (CILT UK) annual Top 30 Logistics Service Providers ranking for the first time, ending Unipart Logistics’ reign at the summit.
The parcel locker operator heads the 2026 rankings ahead of Unipart Logistics in second place and GXO Logistics UK in third, followed by CEVA Logistics and XPO Transport Solutions UK.
Compiled for the ninth consecutive year, the rankings assess logistics businesses using publicly available information, including financial performance, professional accreditation and environmental, social and governance measures.
Commenting on InPost’s rise to number one, Michael Rouse, CEO International at InPost, said the ranking reflected the company’s sustained expansion.
“It’s a really proud moment for the team, and it caps off the biggest period of growth in InPost’s history. That’s the real story behind this recognition – sustained, compounding growth in scale and reach across every part of the business, not just one good year.”
CILT UK chief executive Helen Hardy said this year’s rankings highlighted the resilience of logistics businesses despite difficult market conditions.
“Against a backdrop of tightening margins and economic headwinds, these companies have continued to invest in their people, their operations, and their long-term growth.
“Their resilience is a testament not only to strong leadership, but to the vital role our sector continues to play in keeping the UK’s supply chains moving,” she said.
The Top 30 combines major international logistics operators with UK-owned businesses across road freight, warehousing, courier services and transport support activities.
Companies are scored against 12 criteria using data sourced primarily from Companies House.
The institute also published its annual Top 10 SME Logistics Service Providers ranking, with Quality Freight Services taking the number one position, followed by Supreme Freight Services and Cargo Overseas.
