Harris MAXUS UK is turning up the heat in the battle for the electric van market, pricing its eDELIVER 3 compact electric van at below £20,000, following a similar pricing move with its DELIVER 7.
The manufacturer said the new proposition is aimed at businesses operating in urban and last-mile delivery applications.
The eDELIVER 3 has a maximum payload of 1,045kg and up to 4.8m³ of load volume. Standard equipment includes automatic air conditioning, heated front seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB, DAB radio and a reversing camera.
The pricing move follows Harris MAXUS UK’s recent repositioning of the DELIVER 7 in the medium van market, as the manufacturer seeks to reduce the upfront cost of its electric and conventionally powered vans.
Gary Brown, UK sales director at Harris MAXUS UK, said the company was applying the same approach to the compact electric van market.
“With DELIVER 7, we wanted to challenge accepted thinking around van pricing, and the response from the market has been tremendous,” he said.
“Now, we’re taking that same philosophy into the compact electric van sector.
“eDELIVER 3 is exactly what many businesses need – zero emissions, compact, highly capable, exceptionally well specified and now available at a price point that makes switching to electric even more compelling.
“Operators shouldn’t have to compromise on quality, technology or practicality simply because they’re choosing zero-emissions.”
Harris MAXUS said the new proposition was intended to address cost pressures facing operators, as well as demand for zero-emission vehicles and the introduction of clean air and emissions regulations.
The eDELIVER 3 is one of MAXUS’s compact electric van offerings and is designed primarily for urban and short-distance delivery work.
