The shortage of heavy vehicle technicians is being addressed with the creation of a partnership between a Leicestershire college and Logistics UK.
Loughborough College Group’s Stephenson College will deliver the specialist apprenticeships in vehicle maintenance and repair with help from the business group.
Based in Coalville, Stephenson College is an award-winning apprenticeship provider which has a strong commitment to technical education and workforce development.
Logistics UK said it could offer employers expert advice regarding apprenticeship funding and utilising the levy, as well as bespoke apprenticeship programmes that meet specific business needs.
