Premier Paper has taken delivery of five new Renault Trucks T480 Turbo Compound tractor units from Hexagon Leasing.

The paper amd material supplier, which operates a fleet of 120 vehicles, teamed up with Hexagon after its previous supplier pulled out of the UK truck market in 2022.

This is the first time Premier have chosen Renault trucks, having previously used DAF Trucks.

Adrian Fraser, Premier’s fleet manager said: “We went through an extensive tender review to look at other options available rather than the usual vehicle offering that we would choose.

“We found Hexagon to be the right partnership for Premier, offering an excellent level of customer support and dealing with our requirements with a reliable efficiency.”

The five new Renault Trucks tractor units cut CO₂ emissions by up to 10% and are also fitted with Renault Trucks’ Optivision geo-mapping software that stores road topography to optimise gear changes and speed, to further improve fuel efficiency.

Fraser added: “We trialled a number of different vehicles and liaised with our drivers for regular feedback; we chose the Renault trucks based on the lead times, environmental benefits and driver benefits. The best-in-class steering also offers an improved driving and navigation experience.”
