The head of UK Pallets has left the business after more than seven years in his role, has learnt.

Terry Richards, who was previously MD of parent company Business Post (now UK Mail) joined the pallet division as MD in November 2005.

This week (4 March) Graeme Wilson, UK Pallets commercial director, assumed Richards’ responsibilities with immediate effect after the later opted for early retirement.

Guy Buswell, chief executive of parent company UK Mail, said: “We would like to thank Terry for all he has done during his tenure and wish him well for the future.

“We are delighted to announce Graeme as the new managing director, this is an exciting time for our business and will put us in a stronger position to move forward,” he added.

Wilson has been with the business for more than seven years.

UK Pallets was founded in 2003 having previously traded as Weaver Pallet Express and has its main hub in Fradley, Staffordshire.

Last autumn UK Pallets said it was taking action to plug holes in its UK network coverage.

• has learnt that UK Pallets founder member Neil Bomford Haulage, which is based in Harleston in Norfolk, and covers the IP and NR postcodes, is working its notice and will leave in around a month. The company runs more than 100 vehicles and is believed to be a significant inputter into the network.
