Palletised chemicals distribution specialist the Hazchem Network has added three new members to extend its coverage in to Europe.
Pan-European operator P&O Ferrymasters will cover the Benelux region, while Bradford, West Yorkshire-based Redhead International will handle loads to and from Austria.
Allen Logistics, which has depots in County Armagh and England, has taken on Northern Ireland services from Ireland’s Johnston Logistics.
The deals extend Hazchem’s coverage to 24 countries in Europe, formalising services that were previously done on an ad-hoc basis.
It now handles 1,000 parcels and pallets a night from its Rugby hub, offering next-day nationwide delivery through its 40 member hauliers.
P&O Ferrymasters operates from 25 sites across 12 countries, while Redhead has scheduled services to more than 40 countries across Europe, north Africa and the Middle East. Allen runs 30 vehicles and has warehouses in Craigavon, Liverpool and Leicester.
Hazchem MD Ali Karim said: “Despite the economic climate, our research flagged the need to offer international capability.”
