A new self-help group ‘eHGV - a sustainable future’ has been created on LinkedIn by Swain Group MD Matthew Deer with the aim of fostering a community dedicated to discussing and advancing the future of eHGV charging infrastructure.

“The purpose of this community is to bring together industry professionals to explore how we can accelerate the development of eHGV charging solutions to meet the climate crisis head-on, while ensuring a fair transition for UK haulage,” Deer said. “I believe that, together, we can drive meaningful change and secure a sustainable future for our industry. This is a platform for small to medium operators to have a voice which I don’t feel is happening today.”

 Some of the key areas the group will focus on include:

  • Gaining a better understanding of government incentives and stricter emissions standards
  • Building a nationwide fast-charging network
  • Providing support for SMEs and offering workforce training
