GXO said its end-to-end logistics contract with National Highways had helped the roads operator reduce costs by 28% through improved storage and delivery accuracy.
The contract, which began in 2010, provides a weekly delivery service to National Highways’ 10 regional stores, as well support for the new requirement for asset temperature testing to ensure highway safety in the changing climate.
Gavin Williams, GXO MD for UK and Ireland, said: “Working closely with National Highways’ Regional Stores, we have consistently exceeded delivery and collection targets.
“From administration of road salt deliveries to IT development, we’re working with National Highways to make motorways safer, smoother and more reliable while also delivering meaningful savings.”
Stewart Young, national logistics manager at National Highways, described the partnership as “outstanding”.
“GXO has also helped us to significantly reduce the lead time to deliver equipment and materials to roadwork sites,” he said.
