Abnormal loads operator Gundel & Son Transport Services has become the 300th FORS gold member.
The gold status is the top level members can achieve in the national fleet accreditation scheme, which requires firms to demonstrate significant energy savings and high operational standards.
Mansfield-based Gundel & Son has been operating for more than 30 years and specialises in the transportation of abnormal loads and mechanical handling. It runs a fleet of six trucks, two vans, and 10 trailers.
Kevin Gundel, owner and transport manager at Gundel & Son, said: "As a family business, safety and fleet management has always been really important to us, but FORS has helped us quantify and record our practices correctly and effectively to really add value."
Graham Holder, FORS head of quality assurance and compliance, said: "Sincere congratulations to Gundel & Sons on reaching FORS gold."
He added that the milestone was also significant for the wider industry: "It means there are now even more highly skilled, safe and environmentally efficient FORS operators working across the country."
