Temperature controlled specialist FreshLinc has taken 20 new Renault Range T tractor units from Renault's contract hire arm BRS. The order consists of 18 Range T460 11-litre 6x2s and two Range T480 High 13-litre 6x2s, all on three-year contracts with full R&M.
Fleet engineer Andy Marchant said the company bought its first Range T back in 2016 and have enjoyed a supportive relationship with Renault ever since.
He said: “Continually good fuel consumption figures, coupled to a high degree of driver acceptance and a good support network lead us to continue placing orders with the brand.”
The new trucks will operate from Freshlinc's sites in Spalding and Huntingdon, and are maintained by dealers Thompson Commercials and WTL Trucks in Peterborough. They are expected to cover 180,000kms a year hauling fridge trailers seven day a week.
A Renault Trucks spokesperson said there has been "no impact" on parts supply in the UK and Ireland, with all flows currently "as normal".
"Ensuring customer uptime remains our number one priority and we are monitoring the situation daily across Europe and working with our suppliers to ensure that customer needs are met," the spokesperson added. "Should the situation change we will communicate this promptly."
Renault Trucks has already announced the closure of its four truck production sites until further notice.
