Vehicle manufacturer if.Vehicles is marking this year’s Freight In The City Expo by launching what it believes is the world’s only transformable and dismountable micro electric vehicle for the final mile.
The company’s if.Micro, which can be driven on the road, can also swiftly transform into a power-assisted trolley for porter operation on pavements and in pedestrian-only areas.
The manufacturer says this is a world first since the if.Micro can be transported and dismounted with cargo from any van or truck – transforming existing fleet vehicles into what it describes as “floating distribution hubs”.
A spokesman said: “Our technology cuts CO2 generation by over 80% and per parcel delivery costs by over 30%, and also significantly improves customer service standards,” adding that the team is looking forward to providing visitors to its stand with a detailed insight into the if.Micro’s capabilities and more.
Freight in the City Expo is a free-to-attend one-day event focused on best practice operation and latest technology for urban freight deliveries. It takes place on 28 September at London’s Alexandra Palace, so register today for your free pass.
