Continental Tyres and Bandvulc will use their presence at this year’s Freight in the City Expo to highlight the impact tyres can have on lowering operational costs and reducing harmful emissions.
At next week's expo, Steve Howat, Continental’s general manager, technical services, will be on the stand to discuss the impact the VECTO regulations will have on fleets. He will help you understand how tyres can play their part in reducing CO2 emissions and how fleets can select the correct tyres for the job, to meet these environmental needs.
Continental’s digital solutions team will also be on hand to showcase how the ContiConnect tyre-pressure monitoring systems can help fleets manage their tyres and reduce downtime, for optimum fleet efficiency. The Conti360° Solutions team will be talking all things fleet management, from tyre contract management to its Europe-wide breakdown service.
On display from Continental will be the EcoRegional HS3 and the ContiVanContact 100 tyres, while leading tyre retreading firm, Bandvulc, will bring its newly-launched AA-rated Wastemaster 5 tyres.
The Bandvulc Wastemaster 5 includes the brand’s pioneering ARMORBAND sidewall technology, offering an additional protective layer of rubber compound on the mid to lower sidewall of the tyre. This tapered protective band adds additional protection against sidewall scrubbing, protects against damage and prolongs the life of the tyre.
Neil Davies, regional fleet sales manager at Continental, said: “The inclusion of ARMORBAND on the Bandvulc Wastemaster 5 makes this tyre ideally suited to vehicles which collect and deliver in busy urban areas, where there is little space to manoeuvre, and as a result, where tyre damage is more common.”
From Continental, the fuel-efficient EcoRegional HS3 tyre will be on display. Designed for minimum rolling resistance, and therefore better fuel consumption, the EcoRegional helps contribute to lower vehicle CO2 emissions, with its new W-groove technology reducing stress on the tyre for even wear and robust mileage on regional roads.
Davies added: “Freight in the City puts the efficiency questions faced by all fleets top of the agenda and it is a great opportunity for those reviewing their tyre policy to get up close to the Continental and Bandvulc products and see how our ranges can help lower overall costs. We encourage visitors to speak to a member of the team and learn about the benefits our ranges can bring.”
