The Fortec Pallet Distribution Network has appointed a new commercial manager as it continues to identify and pursue new opportunities for corporate business development.
The Watford, Northampton-based pallet network has welcomed Lin Simpson to the newly-created role of commercial manager, which will see her work to develop the network's corporate division to achieve its future objectives.
Simpson brings experience in supply chain and third party logistics including in FMCG and the retail sector, as well as business development and account management roles in parcel, post and pallet distribution to her role.
"I am delighted to be joining the team at Fortec," said Simpson. "I have long been aware of the company having previously worked for another pallet network and when I heard of this new role I thought it would suit me perfectly."
She will support recently appointed commercial director Marcus Fischer in his role.
Fischer said: "We are delighted to welcome Lin on to the Fortec team.
"Her expertise will play a crucial part in helping us to achieve our goals and ambitions in the next phase of our development."
Fortec officially launched its corporate division in 2012 to grow the network's business with larger, national customers.
Its aim remains to attract more “blue-chip” clients, which often require too much funding upfront for individual network members to take on themselves.
