Bibby Distribution has welcomed former employee Dean Jones back to the business in the newly created role of sector director.
Jones spent 20 years with the group as a divisional general manager, before he left to work as a business director at DHL Supply Chain and operations director at Eddie Stobart.
In the new role Jones will be responsible for growing Bibby's specialist consumer and retail branches.
He said that he sees "huge potential" in these divisions of the business "as major investments have been made in both the fleet and the team".
Bibby Distribution MD Duncan Eyre said: “Dean has a vast amount of operational and technical experience and we’re delighted to welcome him back.
"We’re confident his skills and knowledge mean he is the right person to help us expand our operations in these key sectors.”
In its most recently published financial results, Bibby Distribution moved back into the black after a tough loss-making period. Its pre-tax profit rose 67% in the year ended 31 December from a loss of £4.3m to a profit of £2.3m.
