Former DPD executive director Charlie Shiels (pictured) has been appointed chief operations officer at Arrow XL.
Shiels worked with DPD for just less than 22 years, most recently as executive director of central operations, before he left the business last July.
Shiels was responsible for the parcel delivery firm’s fleet, and was named on each of its O-licences.
Arrow XL MD Ian Howell said: “We are pleased to welcome Charlie into such a key role in our business, at a time when we are building momentum under continued growth.
“Charlie’s task is to drive forward the operation and to deliver the best customer experience possible.”
Arrow XL’s most recent accounts for the year ended 30 June 2016 saw its pre-tax profit leap up by more than 500% to £2.7m.
