Charles Wilson, the former chief executive of food wholesaler Booker, has acquired a significant minority shareholding in Menzies Distribution and joined the board as a non-executive director.
Wilson’s investment represents approximately 10% of the company’s share capital.
He said: “I am delighted to be joining Menzies Distribution as an investor and non-executive director.
“The company has a strong management team, great colleagues and serves important customers.”
Menzies said the development accelerated the momentum already seen at the company over recent months.
