Union Unite is set to ballot five other Sainsbury’s DCs for industrial action next week, following a strike that took place on Friday 20 June.
A spokesman for Unite said that no further industrial action is currently planned at the supermarket’s Haydock, Merseyside DC, nor has it seen any movement from Sainsbury’s following action in a dispute about changes to staff pensions last week.
The union now plans to 1,700 drivers and warehouse staff at Sainsbury’s DCs in Hams Hall, Elstree, Basingstoke, Waltham Point and Rye Park, beginning next week.
Last week, 197 drivers at Haydock began their shifts two hours later than usual.
Sainsbury's was unavailable to comment.
