HPL progresses fleet investment programme 3

Humber Ports Logistics has taken delivery of the first six of an order of 25 13-litre Volvo FH 460 XL trucks, as the company moves to future proof its fleet.

Purchased through Crossroads Truck & Bus, the first tranche of trucks sees Humber Port Logistics’ existing fleet increase to 75 vehicles, which are split evenly between the company’s Immingham and Hull depots. The arrival of the other 19 trucks will be staggered over the next three months.

Family firm Humber Port Logistics (HPL) was founded in 2012 and offers just-in-time logistics solutions to production lines, distribution hubs and port terminals throughout the UK.

Commenting on the investment, HPL’s director, Jamie Benton, said: “Bringing together style and substance, our decision to invest significantly in the FH 460s was based on the vehicle’s reputation for driver safety and wellbeing, dependability and, of course, offering good value for money.

He added: “Perfect for use on short, medium and long-haul routes, the new trucks go above and beyond when it comes to driver comfort; whilst also importantly ticking all the boxes to meet our sustainability and fuel consumption goals.

Benton also praised the “outstanding service” the company experienced with Crossroads Truck & Bus, adding: “We know their team has our back; their ongoing support is just a phone call away.”

Adam North, Crossroads Truck & Bus area sales manager, added: “We have a special business relationship with HPL, and I would like to thank them once again for their confidence in Crossroads Volvo and the latest 13Ltr FH 460 I-Save engine.

“We’ve been working with Jamie and the team for over ten years. With attention to detail and first-class customer service rooted in the DNA that runs through both companies, we understand what HPL expects from its truck provider, and we consistently pull out all the stops to ensure that what we deliver fully meets the original brief.”
