Motor Transport Awards winners 2024 celebrate

For nearly 40 years, the Motor Transport Awards have set the standard for excellence in UK road transport, recognising fleet operators, truck manufacturers and service providers.

Today we have announced our esteemed panel of expert judges who will scrutinise this year’s entries and pick the very best to make it on to the shortlist in the first round of online voting. They will then convene in person for two days in May to agree the winners in each of our 20 categories who will be announced at the Grosvenor House Hotel on September 3.  It is the fact that the Motor Transport Awards are judged by this panel of over 50 independent experts that makes being shortlisted or winning so highly prized by the industry.

With entries closing in just under two weeks, here’s what some of our panel said they are looking for in a winning entry:

“Motor Transport Awards bring the best of the industry to the fore and I am keen to see continued innovation demonstrated in real world environments with a strong focus on fleet decarbonisation.”

Sam Clarke, commercial lead, Gridserve

“The Motor Transport Awards celebrate the best in the industry. As a judge, I am focused on not only identifying outstanding customer service but recognising businesses that use innovative and scalable strategies to enhance their customer experience.”

 Kevin Buchanan, CEO, Pall-Ex Group

“I look forward to seeing how the industry is embracing the green future and the associated challenges.”

Stuart Morgan, MD, Rockley Transport

“Looking forward to judging this year’s MT Awards, a chance for operators to demonstrate their progress towards more sustainable freight logistics, seeing their commitment by taking concrete actions at scale to reduce environmental impact with a positive and transparent approach will be needed to score well in the awards.”

Colin Smith, programme manager – freight and clean vehicle retrofit, Energy Savings Trust
