Auction house John Pye got a lot for its money after its relationship with EV Cargo Global Forwarding grew into a comprehensive home delivery solution.
The transport company started working with the auctioneer in 2019 when it stepped in to relocate, store and distribute 700 pallets of salvage stock from a German distribution centre.
Since then, EV Cargo has acted as the “logistics control tower” for John Pye Auctions – and its involvement proved crucial as the pandemic hit.
The auction house was forced to switch its face-to-face business model to incorporate home delivery for its online sales and EV Cargo has now delivered 8,600 pallets on its behalf since June.
Sascha Stroetges, EV Cargo Global Forwarding Germany MD said: “To drive continuous improvement, cope with the surge in demand and navigate ongoing regional UK lockdowns, John Pye turned to us to help put the most challenging piece of its home delivery jigsaw in place.
“This summer, while collections were restricted, our European hub in Germany worked in collaboration with John Pye to put a comprehensive home delivery solution in place for auction lots bigger than parcel courier size.”
