Eurovision Logistics has become the first transport operator to support FairFuelUK (FFUK) with a monthly contribution.
The Hull-based firm has backed the campaign for many months but wanted to make a financial gesture to help the FFUK team continue its battle for a fair deal on fuel.
“We very much appreciate someone taking the impetus to battle on behalf of us hauliers over the issue of fuel duty,” says Eurovision MD Dominic Yeardley. “It’s very easy to sit back and accept the wins that FFUK make, but we felt it was time to pay our dues and make a gesture to say thank you.”
Yeardley stresses that it is only a “small gesture” but FFUK founder Peter Carroll is delighted with Eurovision’s support.
“It gives us the consistency to plan ahead because fighting for a fair deal on fuel is a long battle,” says Carroll.
A further two hauliers have since pledged financial support to the campaign. See Motor Transport’s next edition – Monday 11 June – for the full story.
FFUK recently has doubled its “email your MP” target after surpassing its original 25,000 marker in just two weeks.
