DX Group’s multi-million pound takeover of Legal Post (Scotland) and First Post has been given the green light, after the UK competition authority closed its investigation into the deal.
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced in July that it was reviewing DX’s £3.25m acquisition, which will increase the operator’s presence in Scotland and consolidate the legal document exchange market there.
In September the competition authority lifted an enforcement order – effectively allowing integration of the business to resume.
The CMA has now said its investigation is officially closed and no further action will be taken.
In a statement, DX said it expected the integration of the businesses to be completed by the end of 2016, “bringing with it the anticipated customer service enhancements and cost savings”.
DX’s latest accounts show a comeback in the second half of what was a tough trading year for the business.
