An organisation set up specifically to support mental health and wellbeing in logistics has released a survey it wants professional drivers to complete in order to tailor support in the right areas.
Whysup Logistics, a sector-specific arm of Whysup, is focused on supporting drivers and the wider workforce through face-to-face sessions, online delivery and tailored digital resources.
Its aim is to reach as many HGV drivers as possible to try and gain an insight into the services required to ensure the workforce is supported.
Whysup Logistics said all responses would be 100% anonymous and could not be traced to the person who completed it or their employer.
Consultant Ian Dickinson, who has helped the founders launch Whysup Logistics, said: “There is very little in the logistics space to support the wellness and wellbeing of drivers and others that work on their own with their own thoughts.
“Whysup have lived experience of a lot of today’s society stresses and strains within their business.
“Whysup’s aim is to help to be a prevention rather than a cure. Their portal will be used to reach out and help subscribers with their own daily challenges.
“The portal will develop into a bespoke solution for the business’ that support it and there will also ultimately be a number of mental health qualified counsellors available to provide support live or planned support too.”
Dickinson added: “The information that comes from these surveys will be vital as it will help the founders direct the business into the specific areas that need support and guidance.”
