Olly-Craughan---DPD

Olly Craughan, head of sustainability at DPD UK, has been voted top of the Motor Transport Decarbonisation Power Players 2023 sponsored by Scania GB and Optimize.

Now in its second year, the annual Decarbonisation Power Players listing names the top 25 influencers helping to move the UK road transport industry down the road to net zero carbon emissions.

A panel of judges - including last year’s top Power Player Justin Laney, general manager - central transport at the John Lewis Partnership – put together the listing based on a range of criteria including the scale, impact and effort of the individual and their organisation.

Craughan took on the new role of head of sustainability at DPD in 2021. DPD has been making great strides to electrify its final mile and already has 10 zero emissions depots with another 20 in the pipeline. It is also deploying HVO in the trunking fleet to cut emissions there and DPD UK expects to beat its parent company’s deadline of 2040 to go net-zero emissions.

The rest of the top five was made up of: Peter Harris, VP, international sustainability at UPS; Rob Fowler, fleet director of Royal Mail; Bob Moran, deputy director, decarbonisation strategy at the DfT; and Philip Fjeld, CEO of CNG Fuels.
