Don-Bur has showcased its new Polar-Bur temperature-controlled lifting deck trailer at Tip Trailer Services’ two-day event at Stoke City Football Club.
The Polar-Bur trailer, which features the Thermo King Advancer A500 refrigeration system supplied by Marshall Fleet Solutions, is the first of two of being supplied by TIP Trailer Services to its customers.
The 4.915m high, tri-axle Polar-Bur trailer, which is designed to operate between +12 and -20°C, is also fitted with an aerodynamic ‘EcoStream’ roof profile, which Don-Bur claims reduces fuel consumption by up to 16% and lowers CO2 output by an estimated 13 to 16 tonnes a year.
Alongside the debut of the Polar-Bur trailer, Don-Bur also displayed a 13.7m teardrop curtainsider and a 13.6m fixed deck box trailer.
Other new designs at the event included SDC’s 10m long, tandem axle ‘Urban’ Curtainsider trailer with a Dhollandia DHRM tuckaway 1500kg tail-lift featuring a steel and aluminium platform, and its SDC Freespan Curtainsider tri-axle trailer which features a postless design and a height of 4.68m.

Meanwhile Dennison Trailers showcased a concept Link trailer designed specifically for the UK market, based on a design currently used in Europe. The trailer combination has an overall combined length of 25.25m, including the tractor unit.
The front trailer is a sliding bogie skeletal chassis which can carry a 20-ft container or a 20-ft swap body, whilst the rear trailer consisted of a 40-ft gooseneck skeletal, which can carry 40-ft, 45-ft or 2 x 20-ft containers.
Completing the TIP Open Day lineup were two electric vehicles, at 3.1 tonne and 16 tonne, from Renault’s ZE electric distribution range that are currently available for hire or lease through TIP company Gray Rentals in Hull.
Mike Furnival, Tip Trailer Services MD, UK and Ireland, said: “Being able to host the launch of the first temperature-controlled lifting deck trailer from Don-Bur was a significant coup for us and reflects the long-term relationship that we have with the trailer manufacturer.
“Looking at the comprehensive display of both trailers and vehicles from all the manufacturers exhibiting at the Bet365 Stadium, meant that the visitors to our open days were treated to an excellent selection of trailers that showcased some of the latest industry technology.”
