DHL has won a contract with Faurecia, to deliver Range Rover door interiors produced by the supplier to Jaguar Land Rover.
The deal will see DHL provide sequenced deliveries from the tier-one supplier's manufacturing plant in Fradley, Staffordshire to the Jaguar Land Rover site in Solihull, West Midlands.
Deliveries will be made every 60 minutes using three 7.5-tonne vehicles, following the Solihull plant’s move into 24-hour production this year.
As part of the contract, all vehicles have been fitted with ‘track and trace’ technology to monitor delivery progress.
DHL Supply Chain general manager- automotive transport, Steve Corbett, said: “By drawing on our in depth knowledge of both Faurecia and Jaguar Land Rover’s operating requirements we have been able to provide a robust and cost effective solution specific to the customer’s needs.”
National Grid last week renewed and extended its contract with DHL to include management of its Birmingham and Didcot, Oxfordshire, sites.
