DHL has been appointed the official partner for FC Bayern Munich, covering international logistics and e-commerce fulfilment.
The six-year deal will see DHL continue to deliver merchandise to football fans across the globe, a service it has previously provided, but now as its official ‘platinum’ partner.
As a result of the deal, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, chairman of FC Bayern Munich's executive board, said the team hopes to expand its online reach and international merchandising.
Under the new agreement, fans visiting the Allianz Arena in Munich can also ship merchandise from the FC Bayern Megastore directly to their homes.
Frank Appel, CEO of Deutsche Post DHL (pictured right with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge), said: "We are really looking forward to our strategic alliance with such a highly respected partner as FC Bayern Munich.
"Our services will create a strong base that will enable the team to build on its business success both nationally and internationally. Two strong, internationally respected brands like FC Bayern Munich and DHL will also profit from each other in the sponsoring partnership they have set up."
DHL earlier this year revealed a five-year partnership with rugby union team Harlequins. It will also be the official logistics partner for next year’s Rugby World Cup and is the official logistics partner of Manchester United.
