The Motor Transport operating cost tables have been regarded for many years as the definitive independent measure of the costs of running fleets of vans and trucks. They are used to benchmark operating costs by hauliers when negotiating rates increases and tell operators how much they need to be changing to make a profit. As the industry moves down the road to net zero carbon emissions the MT cost tables will be expanded to reflect the costs of operating alternative fuelled vehicles.
