Peel Ports has appointed 18 contractors to commence a major programme of construction works across its UK and Ireland sites lasting eight years.

Companies such as A E Yates, Erith Contractors, Glencar and Mackenzie Construction successfully tended for projects covering general and marine construction at ports including Liverpool, Heysham, London Medway and Great Yarmouth.

Other successful contractors for the £750m works include C Spencer, John Graham Construction and Jackson Framework.

General construction projects cover drainage, roads and carparks, warehousing, rail construction and bridge building. Marine works include piling and asset renewal, berthing furniture, quay walls and RoRo.
