The planned strike of Co-operative Food drivers protesting the transferral of 87 drivers to Eddie Stobart has been suspended.
The planned strike action, due to last 48 hours as of 00.01 on Monday (21 March) was to be observed by up to 700 drivers.
The work to rule action that was to accompany the strike has also been suspended.
The drivers were balloted over the decision to strike earlier this week, with 77% voting in favour of industrial action.
A spokesman for union Unite said: "The strike has been suspended so that we can engage in meaningful talks at the conciliation service Acas today."
