Clugston Distribution has expanded its fleet to service a five-year contract with multinational liquid and dry bulk giant Interbulk, which it signed in the summer.
The four new Renault Premiums will be coupled with specialist 30ft tipping frame trailers, built by manufacturer Martans, and designed to carry and discharge bulk powders from 30ft inter-modal containers.
They will join an existing fleet of Interbulk liveried vehicles, with 10 now deployed daily to service the contract from the bulk giant’s operating depot in Hull.
This latest investment follows £1.5m already invested on 13 Renault Premiums, four powder tankers, a Cobo fuel tanker and a Lawrence David curtainsider so far this year.
All Clugston drivers are also instructed by Interbulk’s training and engineering team on the product and customer requirements of each job.
The contract has seen the creation of 25 new jobs at Clugston's during 2013.
David Heath, head of logistics at Clugston Distribution, said the investment demonstrates a commitment to a long-term partnership between the two firms, and added. “We are also currently exploring opportunities to strategically grow the partnership in 2014.”
