NV Transport in Chichester has entered liquidation with the loss of 50 jobs.

Following a meeting at the company on 29 May, FRP was appointed to voluntarily wind up the business and auction off its assets.

According to joint liquidator Ian Vickers, the business, whose principal trading address was in Runcton and which operated a total of 42 HGVs and 63 trailers out of three bases in the south east, had experienced cashflow pressures and ceased trading on 14 May.

All 50 employees were immediately made redundant.

Vickers said: “We supported the orderly wind down of the business after it experienced a prolonged period of difficult trading.

“We are now focused on selling the business’s remaining assets and are working closely with the Redundancy Payments Service, to ensure that employees receive every support at this difficult time.”

The company held two standard national O-licences, both of which have now been surrendered.

In May 2018, it was reported that NV Transport had added four refrigerated longer semi-trailers to its fleet in order to boost its supermarket delivery service.

At the time, MD Steven Zwinkels said the vehicles would help ensure fresh produce would be delivered quickly to customers including Lidl, M&S, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose.
