ByBox Field Support has extended its technical services arm with the acquisition of courier firm Echo.
Echo, which provides time-critical spare parts delivery for clients including Fujitsu, IBM and Getronics, will be incorporated into ByBox’s Technical Services division.
The acquisition will see the company’s network of field technicians grow to over 400, covering the IT and retail sectors.
ByBox MD Mark Garritt said Milton Keynes-based Echo needed to be integrated into a high volume firm in order to be sustainable.
Garritt said: “Given current market conditions and the pricing pressures on our customers, charging a premium is not an option.
"We therefore believe that joining forces with Echo will help us to continue to deliver outstanding service levels at competitive rates.”
It is the firm’s third acquisition in the technical parts sector in four years, following its acquisition of parts courier Newcotech in 2010 and engineer PPR Solutions in June 2012.
