BT Fleet has signed a four-year deal to manage a fleet of 1,200 vehicles for gas distributor Wales & West Utilities. The contract involves management of Wales & West Utilities’ light and heavy commercial vehicles as well as plant, and also involves management of its vehicle suppliers. “We chose BT Fleet as fleet management partners as they were considered best in class,” said Wales & West Utilities fleet manager, Andrew Pettiford, about the decision. “They have the experience of managing large commercial vehicle fleets, supported by a quality garage network that will ensure our fleet stays on the road.”
In July, BT Fleet won the Best Use of Technology award at the Motor Transport Awards for a programme of engine control unit remapping for BT OpenReach that resulted in savings of £4m a year.
