Global vehicle safety systems supplier Brigade Electronics has welcomed the Lord-Lieutenant of Kent, Lady Colgrain, to its headquarters to present the company with The King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.

Brigade was one of only 252 UK organisations to be recognised with the award, which it also won back in 2019.

Joining Lady Colgrain on the visit were Deputy Lord Lieutenant Kevin Holford and leader of Kent County Council, Roger Gough. The guests were accompanied by MD Philip Hanson-Abbott and the Brigade team on a tour of its facilities, including its research and development department.

Hanson-Abbott said: “We were thrilled to welcome Lady Colgrain to our headquarters and to have the opportunity to introduce her to our team and demonstrate what makes Brigade so special. We are absolutely delighted to be recognised by what is one of the most prestigious business awards in the world – to be visited by Kent county’s official representative of His Majesty The King is a great honour and one that was thoroughly enjoyed by all our team on site.”

The King’s Award for Enterprise was renamed last year to reflect the King’s desire to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II by recognising outstanding UK businesses. The award programme is now in its 58th year with successful businesses able to use the esteemed King’s Award Emblem for the next five years.
