Jobs at Boughey Distribution are at risk after the food distribution company confirmed it had started a consultation into restructuring the business.

NWF Group, of which Boughey is a division, said roles were at threat at the transport firm’s Nantwich site in Cheshire.

The jobs include warehouse and management positions.

In a statement NWF said: “We can confirm that a limited number of roles within the warehouse and management teams at Boughey Distribution’s Wardle site have been placed at risk as part of a proposed restructure, in order to streamline parts of the operation and support the long-term growth of the business.

“A formal consultation process is now underway.

“We appreciate this is a difficult time for our colleagues and we are committed to treating anyone impacted with fairness and respect,” it added.

“As this process is ongoing, we are unable to comment further at this stage.”

Boughey Distribution’s operator licence for the North West region shows that it runs 140 HGVs and 250 trailers out of its Wardle site, as well as having operating centres in Preston, Crewe and High Peak.

The last set of financial results for the company showed that revenues grew by 10% in 2024 to £77.8m, but its pre-tax profit reduced from £2.3m in 2023 to £1m last year.
