GXO Logistics is celebrating the first anniversary of its partnership with Currys, operating four distribution centres, as well as omnichannel fulfilment and returns logistics on the electrical retailer’s behalf.
The logistics provider said during its first year, it had simplified Currys’ supplier structure and unlocked efficiencies by eliminating non-value-added tasks.
Earlier this year, GXO also expanded its scope to manage Currys’ core transport services to complement its warehouse solutions, providing full end-to-end supply chain value.
“We’re delighted with the results our partnership with Currys has achieved in our first 12 months,” said Gavin Williams, GXO MD for the UK and Ireland.
“Both companies are committed to operational efficiency and making safety a top priority, and our highly-skilled teams know how to deliver substantial savings.
Lindsay Haselhurst, COO at Currys plc said: “Partnering with GXO to run our UK warehouse operations was a great decision.
“The company plays a key role in the success of our ‘Brilliant Basics’ plan, which we designed to improve our supply chain and service operations.”
GXO Logistics UK recently posted increases in turnover and profits for the year ending 31 December 2021, which it attributed to strong organic growth and new business wins.
