Marshall Fleet Solutions is expanding its UK operations with the opening of a new flagship depot in Tamworth, West Midlands.

The multi-million-pound facility, totalling 26,000 sq m, was declared officially open for business with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday of last week (11 August) at Tamworth’s Birch Coppice Business Park.

The new site will be used to meet the company’s national growth plans for Thermo King Transport Refrigeration and tail lift services. Marshall Fleet Solutions is the trading name of Marshall Thermo King.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mark Howell, MD of Marshall Fleet Solutions said: “Our new Tamworth facility marks a significant milestone in MFS history and I’m delighted to be opening during our 50th anniversary year.

“With this excellent facility and our dedicated employees, I am confident we will increase capacity and continue to deliver award-winning service to our growing customer base for the next 50-plus years.”

The new facility includes a multi-bay workshop which can hold up to nine HGV vehicles at one time, a National Parts and Accessories Centre (NPAC), an executive office suite, and a dedicated Centre of Excellence which builds upon the company’s existing transport refrigeration training school.

The new Centre of Excellence will provide in-house training requirements covering every product and service discipline offered by Marshall Fleet Solutions, including transport refrigeration, tail lift and fleet management. The company will also be offering external training opportunities going forward.

Howell added: “The Centre of Excellence is a very exciting addition to the new site and build upon our commitment to developing talent internally and ensuring the future of the industry.”
