Logistics training firm 2 Start have taken delivery of a new Iveco S-Way tractor unit and two Schmitz Cargobull trailers to boost their fleet of articulated training vehicles.
The company said the purchase is in response to growing demand for HGV training prompted by the driver shortage crisis and new government measures allowing Cat B licence holders to train for a Cat C+E driver licence without the need to complete the rigid Cat C licence training.
The company now boasts a fleet of over 25 vehicles. A spokeswoman said: “Since arriving at their Southampton training centre the new Iveco S-Way has been put straight into action, with on the road practical driver training and ‘S’ shaped reversing already being completed, helping the new wave of C+E drivers train to obtain their licences.”
