Urgent reforms of HGV driving training, tests and apprenticeships needed to solve skills crisis, warns Logistics UK
Logistics UK is calling for the government to urgently tackle the driver shortage crisis by providing financial support for HGV driver training, reforming the Apprenticeship Levy and prioritising HGV driver tests cancelled due to Covid restrictions.
The driver shortage is a bigger cause for concern to the industry in 2018 than it was last year, according to a new survey.
Logistics, parcels and mail firm Whistl has landed a tranche of new customers for its Posthub operation since its launch in January this year.
