Europa Worldwide Group said the pandemic had “shone a light on logistics”, which had translated into a bumper crop of school leavers and graduates keen to pursue sales roles in the industry.

Following the launch last year of its RAPID career development programme, which offers opportunities to young people to join its Europa Road sales team, the company said it had experienced a “vast increase” in applications for 2021.

The programme places a school-leaver and a graduate in each of its 13 UK branches with a view to potentially adding a second graduate in its larger outlets.

Lana Jay (pictured), Europa Worldwide Group early careers talent manager, said: “The pandemic has shone a light on logistics, so we are seeing an increase in the level of understanding amongst both school-leavers and graduates.

“With this in mind, we felt it was the right time to extend the programme to university students.

“The response and calibre of graduate candidates has so far been fantastic.”

Successful applicants will start on a salary of £22,500 with a company car and the chance to earn commission after a few months.
