All face-to-face Driver CPC courses have been suspended until 2 December as part of the lockdown restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Authorised testing facilities (ATFs) could still be left without vehicle test staff as a result of industrial action if talks taking place on Monday 8 June between union Prospect and DVSA chief executive Alastair Peoples do not go well.
Ferguson Transport said a fall in revenue from handling goods in its warehouse division last year was more than compensated by additional storage charges and increased demand for capacity.
Talks between DVSA management and Prospect and Public and Commercial Services (PCS) unions at arbitration service ACAS appear to be bearing fruit. Both unions have pledged to suspend all industrial action for the duration of the talks, with DVSA promising not to take disciplinary action against staff who refuse to follow work practices that are in dispute.
