One of the largest warehouses within the M25, offering the potential to reach 21 million consumers within two hours, has been granted planning permission.

Property group Goodman said the high spec 340,000 sq ft single unit warehouse at Purfleet Commercial Park in Essex would efficiently service e-commerce, retail and third-party logistics customers.

Based half a mile from junctions 30 and 31 of the M25 and 16 miles from central London, Goodman said Purfleet 338 also taps into 9,300 job seekers within a half-hour radius.

It said the property will include sustainable features, including electric car charging points and infrastructure for future electric vehicle fleets, solar thermal heating and hot water, and carbon neutral cladding.

George Glennie, Goodman development director, said: “Purfleet 338 will meet strong customer demand for prime same-day delivery locations inside the M25 corridor.

“We’re looking forward to bringing Purfleet 338 to market and supporting our customers to offer faster deliveries of goods and services to consumers, while also tapping into a skilled workforce and driving efficiencies in their supply chain.”
