MyPlaces

Hermes UK has become the latest courier firm to offer enhanced options for customers to improve deliveries.

Its ‘MyPlaces’ innovation enables people to choose a preferred safe place at their home address and upload a photo of it to help drivers.

Notes can also be added for clarity of the drop-off destination while additional features due to be rolled out include the use of what3words to set the exact location, PIN codes for access to properties and setting a preferred ParcelShop & Locker location.

MyPlaces follows UPN’s SmartHub IT app, which helps make its operation totally contactless and provides real-time information about expected arrivals and map vehicle positions.

Last month, AO.com announced it was also working with what3words in order to pinpoint a client’s location.

Chris Ashworth, CIO at Hermes, said: “MyPlaces is the latest innovation from Hermes designed to promote delivery accuracy and give consumers more choice and control over their deliveries, whilst ensuring that safety remains a key priority.

“It is particularly useful for customers with addresses that are hard to find both in busy cities but also rural locations.”
