Collard Group has acquired Raymond Brown Waste Solutions, creating one of the largest privately-owned waste management companies in the south of England.
The deal means Collard Group will now employ more than 400 staff, have over 4,000 skips, a 150-vehicle fleet and turnover in excess of £50m.
It also propels the company into the top tier of waste companies with the capacity to process more than one million tonnes of waste and recycling each year.
Rob Collard, founder and owner of Collard Group (above left with Adam Murnieks, managing director of RBWS), said it was “business as usual” following the announcement: “The integration of Raymond Brown Waste Solutions’ facilities, fleet, equipment and people including the existing management team will enable us to achieve a seamless transition of service for existing customers,” he said.
“The deal brings together two successful businesses and strong brands, giving us more capacity across a much bigger area and expanding the services available to Raymond Brown Waste Solutions’ existing customers.”
Don Coates, CEO at Raymond Brown said the company had been a key part of its group development but that it would now have more opportunity for growth as part of Collard’s: “Raymond Brown Group will now concentrate on growing its Quarry Products and Fortis IBA divisions, both of which have had recent success in securing new reserves and contracts,” he added.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Collard started out in business in 1994 with a second-hand 10-tonne Ford D-Series, providing haulage services to local construction companies.
