Hermes has added 300 Cartwright trailers to its trunking fleet to keep pace with growing parcel volume.
The boss of Hermes UK has said he is both proud and excited about a ground-breaking deal with the GMB union, which will give self-employed couriers access to holiday pay as well as guaranteed earnings.
Hermes has slashed its CO2 output by 6% in the past year, with the business achieving savings of 18.4% since 2008. The parcels firm has set itself a target of a 20% reduction by 2015.
