Transfreight Automotive Logistics Europe (TALE) has entered liquidation after Yusen Logistics acquired the business and hived up its operational activities. Yusen Logistics has commenced operations of its new cross-dock facility in Northampton, which is expected to bolster its expansion plans over the next five years.
Yusen Logistics (UK) has been fined £11,000 after an agency worker fell from a loading ramp at the firm’s site on the Isle of Grain in Kent.
Yusen Logistics is to spend some £9m upgrading its fleet and IT systems after merging its road transport operations with its air and sea freight forwarding businesses last year. Some £7m will be spent on a combination of vehicles and mechanical handling equipment as well as trailers including pillar-less tri-axles with sliding suzies, and its Department for Transport allocation of five 15.65m trailers.
