Abbey Logistics Animal Feed 1

Bulk liquid and powder road tanker operator Abbey Logistics has launched a new dedicated animal feed tanker division.

It is focused on providing nationwide bulk transport and logistics for liquid animal feed.

Abbey have previous experience in the animal feed sector, providing road tanker transport for manufacturers across Europe for more than 20 years.

The company now intends to dedicate more vehicles and tankers to the animal feed sector, and put in place a support team consisting of planning and commercial functions for customers.

Abbey already has existing liquid animal feed customers, describing the creation of a dedicated division as “a natural progression” and believes there is a “strong appetite” for providing more to customers than "just A-B transport."

Sophie Lucy, Abbey Logistics’ animal feed commercial manager, said: “Our new division signals Abbey’s intent and commitment to customers in the animal feed sector which we hope to develop over the coming years.”

“The current animal feed transport market is relatively regionalised and we aim to offer customers a nationwide solution due to the existing Abbey infrastructure which will provide our customers with a more robust national supply chain.”

In January 2017, Abbey Logistics bought liquid food operator Armet Logistics. In September of the same year, the company ended general haulage and pallet work, deciding to focus on its tanker work.
