Thefts from lorries increased by 6.3% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2018 with 454 reported incidents, according to a new crime report. Operators have welcomed the relaunch of Truckpol, the road freight crime intelligence unit that closed after its funding was cut in 2012.
Major operators are throwing their weight behind a campaign to save TruckPol, led by MT’s sister magazine Commercial Motor, the Road Haulage Association and the Freight Transport Association.
